Favorite Fast Food Restaurant: In-N-Out
Hobbies: When I'm on the road I like to see the town we're playing in. If I don't have a chance to get far from the venue, I take a walk, find a local coffee shop and sit and think for a while . At home it's all about my wife, Sarah and my daughters, Emmy and Claire.
Jobs before Sanctus Real: Chik-Fil-A, Day Care worker, telemarketer
Favorite Sanctus Real Song: "The Face of Love" is my all time favorite. I try to live by the motto "no one too lost for me to love, no one too low for me to serve."
Brief Testimony: Matt grew up in a Christian family and accepted Christ at an early age. In Junior High he joined the church's youth group, and by the time he was a Freshman in High School he was in a leadership position there, and lead worship for the youth group for a long time. He's had his ups and downs, but has never questioned his faith in God. He's always trusted God despite not understanding everything. Matt says that the song "After Today" is basically his testimony because it's the way he lives his life.
"I have been a believer my entire life. However, it wasn't until a few years ago that I understood the depth God's love for me. That understanding has changed the way I live, and freed me to see others in the light of grace. He has helped me love others to Him."
Favorite Bible Verse: Philippians 2:1-11 "Therefore if there is any encouragement in Christ, if there is any consolation of love, if there is any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and compassion, make my joy complete by being of the same mind, maintaining the same love, united in spirit, intent on one purpose. Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves; do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others. Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus, who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men. Being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. For this reason also, God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus EVERY KNEE WILL BOW, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father."
Jesus Christ, the Son of God was a humble servant to man..it moves me every time, makes me think, "who am I to deserve anything I have?" it makes me want to serve.
